How's your WiFi speed at home?
by Ed Sawicki
Every time I visit the Apple store, I'm impressed with the WiFi speed, especially given that there are dozens of people in the store, all with phones, and dozens of products on the floor. My Internet access at home isn't quite as fast, and there are only a few devices active at any time.
I recently got a speed increase and price reduction by changing providers. Staying with your provider for more than a few years seems to be a poor idea. Their new customers get the better pricing and speeds, while you're a legacy customer.
If you don't want to switch providers, you can phone them and ask them to lower your price and/or increase your speed. That usually works, but may not be as good a deal as switching providers. It's always a good idea to keep up with what providers are offering.
