Ed Sawicki and family were on the Hawaiian Islands of Oahu and Maui when Hurricane Kiko was passing by to the North, as shown on this map. This caused higher than normal tides. The surf was rough even in the Maui Channel. Here are photos and video taken from Kaanapali Beach.

The ice machine at our hotel is on a different floor. As I was carrying the ice bucket, and the doors to the elevator opened, I said to those on board, “We take my mom on all our trips.”
